In keeping our members up to date, we provide the following update on the recent repairs undertaken by the eThekwini Sewer Department in Armstrong Avenue. The leak above the pumpstation required urgent attention, leading to the pump being temporarily switched off to facilitate the pipe repairs. We want to clarify that there were no issues with the pumpstation itself; the focus was solely on repairing the damaged pipe.
Β The repairs are now complete, and water quality testing is currently underway to ensure that the situation has been resolved. We appreciate the efforts of the eThekwini Sewer Department in carrying out these necessary repairs.
Β We also want to extend our thanks to the public for their patience during this time. The poor water quality experienced recently was due to an overflow from the pipeline while the repairs were in progress. With the pipe now fixed, we anticipate an improvement in water quality at our uMhlanga beaches.
Β We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we work towards maintaining and improving the quality of our local environment.
