Collaboration between the Umhlanga UIP and municipal departments continued throughout September, ensuring key infrastructure and service delivery issues were addressed efficiently across the precinct.
Wastewater Infrastructure – Sewer Blockages Resolved
One of the main areas of focus this month was wastewater infrastructure, with five sewer blockages reported and cleared by eThekwini Water and Sanitation (EWS). The UIP continued working closely with municipal engineers to ensure issues were attended to as quickly as possible and to minimise disruption to the precinct.
Pump Stations Checked for Peak Season
As preparations continue for the upcoming festive period, all pump stations within the area were inspected during September to help ensure operational readiness. Regular inspections and preventative maintenance remain critical to supporting reliable service delivery across the precinct.
Roads, Stormwater & Infrastructure Improvements
Municipal departments also attended to a number of infrastructure matters during the month. A sinkhole in Durban View Park was repaired by the Roads and Stormwater Department, while ongoing repairs to promenade irrigation infrastructure resulted in several water leaks being repaired and reinstated.
