As uMhlanga Rocks gets busier, with more people visiting the Village and the April holiday season upon us, so the UIP / Marshall Security security personnel become more vigilant. It was this vigilance that resulted in 2 arrests, as per the details below:
- On the 10th of March security officer Siphiwe Earnest Mncwabe and Supervisor Mbhekiseni Zincume pursued a suspect who had allegedly stolen a cell phone in the Village. The suspect was found hiding in some bushes on the promenade and was placed under arrest. A SAPS investigation revealed the suspect was part of a syndicate operating in the area.
- On the 28th of March security officer Nkululeko Shandu assisted in the apprehension of a shop lifter in the Village who ran away onto the promenade. Nkululeko was alerted to the incident and after spoting the suspect, placed him under arrest.
