Reducing litter and welcoming new guides to our Forest Trails

Following the successful reopening of the uMhlanga Promenade and Estuary Bridge Trail, we are pleased to share an exciting update that further enhances the experience for our residents and visitors.

New Forest Guides from the Learners Program

As part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to support environmental education and conservation, we have welcomed six new forest guides to our trails. These guides, brought on board through the Councils Learners Program, will be with us until March 2025. Their role is to assist visitors, provide valuable information about the local environment, and help ensure that the trail remains a safe and enjoyable space for everyone.

Installation of New Bins Along the Walkway

In our continued effort to keep the uMhlanga Trail clean and inviting, new bins have been installed along the walkway. These bins are strategically placed to make it easy for visitors to dispose of their waste responsibly, helping us protect the pristine condition of our natural surroundings. We encourage all who use the trail to utilize these bins and contribute to our collective effort to preserve the beauty of uMhlanga.

These updates are part of our broader commitment to enhancing the uMhlanga Promenade and Estuary Bridge Trail experience. With the addition of new forest guides and bins, we aim to ensure that our coastal forest remains a beautiful and well-maintained environment for all to enjoy.
