The proliferation of paper thorns along the promenade has proven a frustrating issue to manage. In addition to spraying the large clumps of thorns, the UIP team has also been pulling the thorns out by hand. Once the thorns are removed, bare patches of sand remain, which are slowly being replanted with new grass. While the process of clearing these thorns is slower than desired, the UIP is very aware of the importance or eradicating them as quickly as possible.
