Looking at the damage to the Durban beachfront, uMhlanga Rocks got off relatively unscathed. There are heavy sand deposits around the Pier and the Lighthouse heading south as well as around the Main beach area, including Millennium Stage, Bronze Beach and the grass areas.
Cleaning will only begin tomorrow as there is a potential that the high tide this afternoon and early tomorrow morning will bring more waves and sand onto the walkways.
