Minimal Damage After High Seas

Looking at the damage to the Durban beachfront, uMhlanga Rocks got off relatively unscathed. There are heavy sand deposits around the Pier and the Lighthouse heading south as well as around the Main beach area, including Millennium Stage, Bronze Beach and the grass areas.

Cleaning will only begin tomorrow as there is a potential that the high tide this afternoon and early tomorrow morning will bring more waves and sand onto the walkways. The UIP has 10 additional staff on standby who will work over the next 2 – 3 days to clean up the sand – thanks for your patience with our team during this time.Β #uMhlangaRocks #uMhlangaUIP #DurbanSeasMarch2017
