We are thrilled to share some exciting news for all uMhlanga residents and visitors! Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife has reopened the full walkway trail and estuary bridge, allowing you to enjoy the entire roundabout trail once again.
Trail Bridge Repair and Stabilization
The trail bridge over the uMhlanga estuary, which had previously fallen within the estuary exclusion zone, has been repaired and stabilized by the UIP, contracted engineers, and Buzz Bolton. The exclusion zone has now been reduced to 150 meters on either side of the open river mouth, making the full trail accessible for your walking and running pleasure.
Wildlife Conservation Notice
As part of our efforts to conserve the wildlife now frequenting the area, all dogs must be kept on a leash at the estuary. This measure helps protect the delicate ecosystem and ensures that both wildlife and visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of uMhlanga.
Enjoy a Leisurely Walk or Run
This weekend, take advantage of the newly reopened trail. Enjoy a leisurely walk or run along the promenade and trails, taking in the stunning coastal scenery. Don’t forget to stop by the Forest Café for a refreshing coffee break.
We are delighted to see the trail fully operational again and encourage everyone to make the most of this wonderful outdoor experience.
