Over the past few weeks, the eThekwini Municipality (eTM) Sewage and Sanitation departments have been actively addressing several issues in the uMhlanga precinct. These efforts ensure the continued functionality and cleanliness of our public spaces. Hereβs a quick overview of the recent service delivery work carried out in the area:
Sewage Blockages and Promenade Safety
The eTM Sewage and Sanitation teams were dispatched to handle five separate sewage blockages in the precinct. These blockages required immediate attention to prevent any health risks or damage to the surrounding areas. While the teams worked, the UIP assisted by setting up a temporary bridge on the promenade, allowing passersby to avoid the affected area and continue their walks safely.
Roads Engineering Assistance
Additionally, the eTM Roads Engineering Department was called out to address a persistent water seepage issue that required their expertise. Their team worked diligently to repair the problem, ensuring that it no longer poses a risk to road users or the nearby infrastructure.
Rubble Removal at Lagoon Drive
After a previous water repair on Lagoon Drive at Cabanas, rubble had been left behind. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Roads Department, this rubble has now been cleared, restoring the area to its clean and tidy state.
We are grateful to eTM for their swift response and to the community for their patience during these repairs. The UIP continues to work closely with eTM departments to ensure that service delivery remains efficient and that uMhlanga is kept safe and clean for all.
