In the latest Mercer’s Quality of Living Rankings survey, Durban was rated SA’s City with the highest quality of living and was ranked as one of a city emerging as a world business centre.
The international survey covers 230 prevalent destinations for globally mobile talent and assesses quality of living conditions to help multinational companies and other employers fairly compensate employees when placing them on international assignments.
While the city’s crime problems keep it from reaching the top 50, assessment of the following factors ranked it 85 out of 230:
– Political and social environment
– Economic environment
– Socio-cultural environment
– Medical and health considerations
– School and education
– Public services and transportation
– Recreation
– Consumer goods
– Housing
– Natural environment
