90% Operational Streetlights & Pier Irrigation Repairs

Municipal Services

This month, eTM ensured uMhlanga Rocks’ streets and infrastructure remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. From streetlight audits to water leak repairs, our stats show a precinct that’s brighter, safer, and operational.

The Promenade’s streetlights are now 96% operational, with Village streets holding steady at 90%. The iconic Umhlanga sign is fully working, thanks to audits conducted by the Lights Department and reports forwarded to the Electricity Department.

Stormwater & Leaks Addressed

Roads and stormwater systems were closely monitored. All areas were checked and logged. Sewage operations ran smoothly over the past month with no major issues, and minor cases were resolved promptly. Water leaks were efficiently addressed, including two irrigation repairs on the Pier Promenade by UUIP and a leak repaired by the council.

uMhlanga Rocks is Safe and Secure

Security incidents were minimal, with one alleged vehicle theft and one assault reported, and both cases were later withdrawn. The high visibility of Metro Police and SAPS continues to make a significant difference, especially at night.

If you notice damaged infrastructure, faulty lighting, or maintenance issues within the precinct, please log the details via the uMmhlanga UIP online fault-reporting platform.
