The Umhlanga UIP’s cleaning, greening and maintenance teams continued their work throughout August, keeping the precinct clean, attractive and well maintained for residents, businesses and visitors.
120 Bags Removed from Beaches and Promenade
Beach cleaning remained a priority throughout August. Working alongside municipal teams, UIP beach cleaners ensured that both beaches and the promenade remained clean and welcoming. During the month, approximately 120 refuse bags were removed from the beaches and promenade.
40 Bags of Rubbish Removed Along the M4
Additional cleaning resources continued to focus on the M4 corridor, where a dedicated forest cleaner and two additional staff members supported ongoing clean-up operations. These efforts resulted in 40 bags of rubbish being removed from the M4, while drains throughout the area were cleared of debris to improve stormwater flow and reduce environmental impacts.
Precinct Landscaping and Maintenance Continues
Routine landscaping and maintenance activities remained a key focus throughout August, and all grassed areas within the precinct were cut and maintained. Two irrigation faults were identified and repaired to ensure landscaped areas remained healthy and attractive.

The continued efforts of the cleaning, greening and maintenance teams help ensure that Umhlanga remains a clean, safe and welcoming precinct for all who live, work and visit here.
