{"id":9426,"date":"2018-06-29T12:06:34","date_gmt":"2018-06-29T10:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/umhlangauip.co.za\/site\/?p=9426"},"modified":"2018-07-03T12:49:39","modified_gmt":"2018-07-03T10:49:39","slug":"oceans-concrete-pour-starts-4th-july-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/umhlangauip.co.za\/site\/oceans-concrete-pour-starts-4th-july-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Oceans Concrete Pour Scheduled For 4 July 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The UIP has been advised that the new start date for the Oceans uMhlanga transfer slab concrete pour on the 4th of July, with details below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>South Tower<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>South side deck (Zone 1) &#8211; Wed 4 July 2018 \u2013 350 cubic metres (+\/- 7 hours)<\/li>\n<li>North side deck (Zone 2) &#8211; Sat 7 July 2018\u00a0\u2013 350 cubic metres (+\/- 7 hours)<\/li>\n<li>Main central transfer slab \u2013 Tues 10 July 2018 \u2013 1450 cubic metres (+\/- 30 hours)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>North Tower<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>South side deck (Zone 1) &#8211; Wed 11 July 2018 \u2013 350 cubic metres (+\/- 7 hours)<\/li>\n<li>Main central transfer slab \u2013 Fri 13 July 2018 \u2013 1450 cubic metres (+\/- 30 hours)<\/li>\n<li>North side deck (Zone 2) &#8211; Mon 16 July 2018\u00a0\u2013 350 cubic metres (+\/- 7 hours)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Full volume and duration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The area of the pour, which needs to be continuous, consists of an area of \u00b11000 m\u00b2 of two deck thicknesses of 420 mm and 2500 mm<\/li>\n<li>The total volume of concrete is estimated to be \u00b11480m\u00b3 at a pump rate of 48m\u00b3\/hour<\/li>\n<li>Placing of concrete which will be continued without any stops for \u00b124 hours<\/li>\n<li>Producing a power floated finish will take\u00a0\u00b16 hours from placing of the last concrete pour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sound \/ Noise volume expectancy<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Noise from the works will surely be produced but the contractor will try to keep certain sounds volume down to a minimum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Traffic control<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Traffic will be managed by a supervisor at the gate to direct traffic when the trucks enter and leave the site<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To put these numbers into context each concrete mixer holds 6 m\u00b3 which equates to 246 trucks that will enter through uMhlanga onto the Oceans site over a 24-hour period, hence the decision to start in the evening to try and have as little impact on the traffic as possible.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UIP has been advised that the new start date for the Oceans uMhlanga transfer slab concrete pour on the 4th of July, with details below: South Tower South side deck (Zone 1) &#8211; Wed 4 July 2018 \u2013 350 cubic metres (+\/- 7 hours) North side deck (Zone 2) &#8211; Sat 7 July 2018\u00a0\u2013&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":130,"featured_media":9429,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[176],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-9426","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-community-sustainability"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.8 -
